VISION: HUNDREDS OF ARBITRARY DECISIONS

HUNDREDS OF ARBITRARY DECISIONS MADE BY DESIGN (2009)
24"x36" Oil Pastel on Canvas
Purchase Artwork

A grid-based work done in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the 1909 Plan of Chicago by Daniel Burnham. The grid is deferential to grid layout of Chicago streets. (In the strict left-right method in which the piece was made, the arbitrary blue square marks the date at which Chicago lost the bid for the 2016 Olympics.)

Grid used for color plotting.
